Description
Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: Manchester, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Overview
- Unit: MedSurg Telemetry (E100)
- Beds: 48 (average census 27)
- Patient Ratios: 1:5 (days), 1:6 (nights)
- Staffing: 1 unit secretary (7am-11pm), Patient Care Technicians (PCT) ratio 1:10-15, occasional 1:1 coverage with PCT or patient safety tech
- Equipment: Hoyer lift, automated BP machines, bladder scanner, remote telemetry monitoring, vein finder
- Documentation System: Altera/Allscripts Sunrise
- Scheduling: Every other week (EOW), 12-hour shifts preferred
- Floating Policy: Floats to like MedSurg Telemetry units; float pool and travelers generally float first
- Patient Experience: Participation in daily multidisciplinary rounds (MDRs) on day shift Monday-Friday at 10:30-11:15am
- Additional Unit Highlights: Brand new blood pressure machines, strong team atmosphere, monthly UPC meetings, great employee retention, hospital recently joined a larger healthcare system (knowledge of system is a plus)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of MedSurg Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Orthopedics experience
Procedures Performed on Unit
- Nasogastric tube (NGT) management
Dress Code
- No required uniform
- Scrubs and closed-toe shoes required (no crocs)
