Description
Registered Nurse – Med Surg GCU
Location: Kearney, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Traveling Med-Surg nurse assignment covering general, ortho, neuro, and spine med-surg patients
- 12-hour shifts
- Shift options: 0600-1830 or 1800-0630
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Patient ratios: Maximum 1:6; Day shift M-F typically 1:5
- Floating: First to float to PCU for a MSU assignment unless telemetry trained
- Holiday requirement: Usually applicable May-Sept and Nov-Jan; no more than 1 holiday off allowed during contract
- Up to 2 extra mandatory shifts every 6 weeks
Required Certifications & Skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS (AHA or ARC) certification
- ACLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Experience or demonstrated skills in Med-Surg nursing
