Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

Location

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM)
  • Weekend rotation required with full-time therapy staff
  • No on-call or block schedules
  • Patient ratio: 1:1
  • No floating between units

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
  • Physical Therapist with a minimum of 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • Social Security Card (as applicable)
  • E-Verify attestation
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • Education verification required
  • State-specific searches as applicable
  • References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps or overlaps
  • Work history verification if reference exceptions are requested

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit mask test (respirator clearance) required for travel candidates, updated annually
  • Immunizations and documentation:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer (declination accepted)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (special rules for Alaska placements)
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (declination accepted)
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
    • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow infection prevention protocols
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)

Additional Requirements

  • Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required
  • Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
  • Compliance with facility-specific floating policy acknowledgment (may be required to float to nearby facilities)
  • Competency checklists and skills checklists as applicable, updated annually
