Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry)

Shift Details
- Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:30 - 07:00)
- Will work every other weekend
Unit and Patient Census
- Medical-Surgical / Telemetry unit
- 30-bed unit with an average daily census of 19 patients
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 3 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association (required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association (required)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
- Required Endocrine/Metabolic skills: IV insulin protocols, titration of insulin drips
- Feeding tube care and management experience required
- Experience with patients with renal failure required
- Required IV therapy/Phlebotomy skills: accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs
- Required medication skills: heparin protocols, titration of vasoactive drips
- Required neurological/psychiatric case skills: care for CVA patients
- Experience with total joint replacements required
- Required respiratory skills: external CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy management
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Will work every other weekend
Licensure and Certifications
- Must have an active Illinois RN license at time of application
- Required certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or RQI acceptable
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or RQI acceptable
- NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred but not required
Additional Job Details
- No on-call requirement
- Floating within scope of practice may be required if census is low
- Open to discussing block scheduling requests with manager
- Locals accepted with no radius restrictions
- Guaranteed hours with some allowance for client call-offs (details managed by agency)
- Parking permit required but no cost for parking
Facility and Documentation Requirements
- Critical Access hospital with 25 staffed beds
- Charting system: Cerner
- Scrub color: Grey
Required Pre-Employment Documentation and Compliance
- Background checks including criminal, sex offender, and federal exclusions within 30 days of start
- State-specific searches and registries as required by Illinois regulations
- Primary source verification of RN license and certifications
- Competency exam required for clinical candidates
- Physical exam within one year of start, including labs scheduled within 7 days of contract signing
- Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within one year
- Immunizations or documented immunity for measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, varicella
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
- Badge photo and code of conduct acknowledgment required
- Completion of computer-based orientation modules before first day
