Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Assignment

Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel

Unit Information

• Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Number of Beds: 25
• Patient Ratio: 2:1
• Staffing: No LNAs or PCTs; 24/7 mid-level providers, trauma surgeons, respiratory therapists; PT/OT available during day shift
• Equipment: GE Monitors, Hamilton Bipaps and Hiflows, Puritan ventilator, Hemospheres
• Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
• Scheduling: 12 shifts per month (approx. 3 shifts/week), including 4 weekend shifts; schedule managed by department leadership
• Floating Policy: Rotation basis with travelers floating first
• Patient Experience: MyCare board updated each shift; bedside shift report at every shift change

Hospital Certifications

• Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Level 2 Trauma Center
• Three Star STS Open Heart Program

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Hampshire
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• Experience titrating vasoactive and inotrope medications
• Chest tube experience

Preferred Skills

• Open heart experience
• Temporary pacing
• Swan-Ganz catheter experience

Procedures Performed on Unit

• Intubation
• Central line and arterial line placement
• Chest tube placement

Work Schedule & Dress Code

• Approximately 36 hours per week
• Uniform: Scrubs (color flexible)

• Emphasis on bedside shift reporting and patient experience updates each shift
