Description
Physical Therapist (PT) - Travel Position
Location: Spruce Pine, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Setting: 60-bed acute care hospital with 2 outpatient clinics
- Staff: 19 total; Day shift includes 3 PTs, 3 PTAs, 2 OTs, 1 COTA, 1 SLP
- Patient Load: 9-11 patients per day per full-time equivalent (FTE)
- Equipment: PT modalities, pool, cardiovascular equipment, Biodex balance system, fitness center
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR):
- Acute care: CERNER
- Outpatient: Nethealth Xfits (formerly ReDoc)
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in both outpatient and acute care settings
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of Physical Therapist (PT) Assessment or USP 800 Hazardous Drug Risk
Work Schedule & Environment
- Hours per week: Approximately 36 hours
- Weekend Rotation: Every 5th weekend; Saturdays involve seeing priority patients for 2-3 hours; no Sunday visits
- Dress Code:
- Acute care: Purple (eggplant) scrubs
- Outpatient: Business attire or polo with khakis
