Description
Rehabilitation Therapy Contract Position – Speech Therapist
Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Shift: Generally a set schedule, 5 days per week, likely including 1 weekend day
Job Description
- Provide rehabilitation therapy with a focus on Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies performed independently in acute care radiology without supervision.
- Experience working in acute care, skilled nursing facility (SNF), or rehabilitation hospital settings preferred.
- Potential referrals for outpatient care.
- Documentation primarily via Meditech computerized system for inpatient and paper documentation for outpatient.
- Training provided for EMR documentation and orientation to rehab area expectations.
- Possible floating to other units or facilities depending on census and staffing needs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Hawaii.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, including experience within the last year.
- Experience as a Rehabilitation Therapist.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Additional Information
- Must arrive the Thursday before the start date to attend an employee health appointment on Friday.
- Dress code: Scrubs or per facility policy.
- EMR system transition to Epic scheduled for November 1, 2025.
