Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Job Description
- Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room specialty.
- Assignment length: approximately 13 weeks.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas.
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- TNCC certification.
- NIHSS certification.
- MOAB certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Health and Safety Requirements
- Documentation of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
- Documentation of two Varicella vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted).
- Valid Tdap vaccination within the last 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza vaccine is optional; if declined during flu season, mask wearing is required.
- Fit test required for respiratory protection, preferably completed prior to start.
- 2-step PPD or IGRA testing with recent negative results and annual TB questionnaire.
- Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Submission of professional resume/profile and at least two professional references prior to assignment.
- Completion of criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and other required screenings within 30 days prior to start; updated annually or after breaks in service over 90 days.
- Employment verification for the past seven years, updated annually or after breaks in service over 90 days.
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start; updated after breaks in service over 90 days.
- Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment documentation required.
- Completion of onboarding education attestation and nursing contract worker onboarding modules.
- Completion of pre-hire modules including Nova StatStrip and other required training.
- Submission of a forward-facing badge photo with white or blue background (no alterations).
Additional Testing and Checklists
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out and training checklist with signed attestation required before start.
- Ascension Skills Checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually.
- Ascension Color Vision test completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
- Ascension Unit Specific Checklist is optional but may be required by unit leader.
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: RN Emergency Room.
- Years of experience: Minimum 2 years in Emergency Department, with recent experience within the last year.
- No explicit prior travel experience required.
This position requires thorough compliance with credentialing, certifications, health screenings, and onboarding processes to ensure readiness for the Emergency Room nursing role.
