Speech Therapist II
Location
- Newport Beach, California
- Work involves seeing patients in their homes
- Equipment provided (pickup from facility)

Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- 40 hours per week
Job Description
- Assess patients for speech therapy needs
- Establish treatment goals and develop treatment plans
- Review medical history and apply screening tests
- Collaborate with patients and families on plan of care including therapy intensity, duration, and discharge recommendations
- Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers on therapy activities, equipment use, and home exercises
- Perform regular re-examinations and gather feedback from patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Manage multiple patients simultaneously
- Complete timely and accurate documentation in compliance with professional and regulatory standards
- Assist with orienting new staff and act as clinical instructor for interns
- Conduct literature reviews and staff consultations as needed
- Participate in continuing education and provide in-services to staff
Required Qualifications
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in California
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, including experience within the last year
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Experience working with geriatric patients
- Experience in a home health setting
- Knowledge and experience with a wide range of diagnoses including general medicine, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, gastroenterology, and otolaryngology
- Home bedside swallow experience
