Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday
• 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• 40 hours per week

Job Description

• Assess patients for speech therapy needs
• Establish treatment goals and develop treatment plans
• Review medical history and apply screening tests
• Collaborate with patients and families on plan of care including therapy intensity, duration, and discharge recommendations
• Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers on therapy activities, equipment use, and home exercises
• Perform regular re-examinations and gather feedback from patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Manage multiple patients simultaneously
• Complete timely and accurate documentation in compliance with professional and regulatory standards
• Assist with orienting new staff and act as clinical instructor for interns
• Conduct literature reviews and staff consultations as needed
• Participate in continuing education and provide in-services to staff

Required Qualifications

• Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in California
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, including experience within the last year
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Experience working with geriatric patients
• Experience in a home health setting
• Knowledge and experience with a wide range of diagnoses including general medicine, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, gastroenterology, and otolaryngology
• Home bedside swallow experience
