Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit)
Location: Los Alamos, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Position in a 47-bed acute care facility, primarily serving adult patients with occasional ENT cases once a month.
- Role involves working in the PACU and Preop areas (shared position).
- Shift: Days with some on-call coverage nights and weekends.
- Workweek: Approximately 36-40 hours.
- Call requirement: Must be able to report to work within 30 minutes of notification.
- Patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2.
- Electronic Health Records used: CQI, Medhost.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico.
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in PreOp / PACU - Post Anesthesia Care.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Additional Information
- Unit has 3 beds dedicated to this role.
- Common patient diagnoses include appendectomy and gallbladder procedures.
- Dress code prohibits open-toed shoes and fake fingernails.
- No expectation to float outside of PACU/Preop areas.

Notes
- Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays.
- Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel.

This position is ideal for experienced PACU RNs seeking a travel assignment with a defined schedule and clear certification requirements.
