Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech

Location: New Bern, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours

Job Description

• Interventional Radiology Tech position with an ASAP start.
• Call schedule rotates among three techs:

  • Weekend Call Tech: Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
  • The week after weekend call: Thursday only
  • The week before weekend call: Monday and Wednesday
• Epic electronic health record experience preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in North Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel assignment as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
• ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT R) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background checks covering the last 7 years, including:

  • Social Security trace
  • County, state, federal, and nationwide criminal checks
  • Sex offender registry
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals.
• Education verification as requested.
• Physical exam within the last 12 months.
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start and updated annually (specific mask models required).
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, with annual updates.
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters if titers are low or equivocal.
  • Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or signed declination.
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox.
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccine or documented exemption required during flu season (September 16 – April 1).
• COVID vaccination status requested but not required.

References and Evaluations

• Two professional references within the last 12 months required; at least one must be from a supervisor or charge nurse.
• Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the facility for over 1 year.
• Skills checklist must be updated annually.

Additional Notes

• Must complete required competency exams and orientation safety acknowledgments.
• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific documentation and credentialing processes prior to start.

This position is ideal for experienced Interventional Radiology Technologists who have prior travel contract experience and meet the certification and compliance requirements listed above.
