Registered Nurse (Neuro Unit)

Location: Peoria, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Night (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide professional nursing care to a designated group of patients on a neuro unit. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation of nursing interventions, and continuous evaluation of patient care. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure patient and staff safety. Collaborate with healthcare team members and support professional development among peers.

Essential Functions

• Perform nursing duties specific to the neuro unit scope of service.
• Complete initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Implement and modify nursing interventions based on patient needs.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
• Report and address safety hazards and incidents.
• Communicate effectively with team members to resolve issues.
• Provide constructive feedback to colleagues and pursue ongoing learning.
• Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
• Minimum 3 years of neurology nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
