Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (Nursery) - Traveler - Night Shift

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (Night Shift)


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in the Newborn Nursery within Labor and Delivery.
  • Traveler position requiring flexibility and adaptability to facility protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
  • Nursery experience
  • AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring certification
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Valid Driver's License

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

Professional Credentials

  • Updated resume reflecting recent work history (required at offer acceptance).
  • Two professional references, including at least one from a manager or direct supervisor.
  • National criminal background check within one year of start date.
  • Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation).
  • Signed current job description (within the past year).
  • Badge photo (clear headshot with plain background).
  • Driver’s license, State ID, or Passport required for onboarding.
  • Agency attestation and other onboarding education attestations must be completed prior to clearance.

Health & Safety

  • Drug screening: Minimum 10-panel test including THC, completed within 60 days of start.
  • Annual respirator fit test completed prior to start (no onsite fit testing in Illinois).
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
    • COVID-19 (2 vaccines plus booster or declination)
    • MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B (3 immunizations, immune titer, or declination)
    • Influenza vaccine or declination (seasonal requirement)
    • Varicella (vaccination or titer)
    • Tdap (declinations not accepted in some regions)
  • Tuberculosis testing: TB test within one year of start date and annual TB questionnaire.
  • Physical/Health statement confirming clearance to work, completed annually or within 60 days of start.

Additional Testing & Training

  • Prime Core Competencies Exam with a minimum score of 80%.
  • Prime Skills Checklist (required at submission).
  • Workplace Violence Prevention training (DCI/BVP).
  • Color-blind test, updated annually.
  • Prime Agency Attestation and SAM/EPLS exclusion search completed prior to onboarding.
