Registered Nurse – Ortho

Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Orthopedic Trauma and Total Joint Replacement
  • Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
  • Unit Size: 36 beds
  • Charting System: Epic

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Minimum 1 year of orthopedic nursing experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferences

  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred (not required)

Restrictions

  • Candidates residing in the following Texas counties are not eligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris

Additional Notes

  • Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required
  • Competency exams and color blindness testing required as applicable
  • Fingerprinting required only for New Mexico placements (not applicable here)

This position is ideal for experienced orthopedic RNs comfortable with night shifts and working in a trauma and joint replacement unit using Epic charting.
