Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Job Description

• Provide holistic nursing care across the lifespan including neonates, infants, children, young adults, adults, and older adults.
• Perform independent, collaborative, and delegated nursing functions according to standards and competencies specific to the ICU.
• Execute the Standards of Nursing Practice: assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Develop and revise patient care plans, coordinate care among disciplines, and delegate activities appropriately.
• Participate in shared accountability and decision-making for nursing practices.
• May be required to float to other ICUs (including TNICU, MICU) and Medical/Surgical units as staffing needs dictate.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Minnesota
• Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current ACLS certification
• Experience working with adult and geriatric patients
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records system
• MN DHS Net Study and Fingerprinting clearance (required for all patient-facing roles)
• Work history documentation relevant to specialty within the past year
• Two supervisory references with dates of employment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience caring for fresh open heart surgery patients.
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Experience with Impella and balloon pumps.

Additional Information

• Dress code: Galaxy Blue Scrubs.
• Nonbillable hours: 4 hours.
• Strict compliance deadline for credential submission: 4 pm on the Wednesday before assignment start (no exceptions).
• Candidates must disclose if not eligible to work in the USA.
• Prior work history with the local health system must be listed on the resume.
• Local travel policy applies for candidates living within 35 miles of the facility.
