Cardiovascular Radiology Technologist

Location

Cincinnati, Ohio

Contract Length

13 weeks

Shift Details

4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
On-call coverage required:
- Weekday call: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend call: 7:00 AM Saturday – 7:00 AM Monday
- 30-minute response time for emergency cases during call shifts

Job Description

Provide continuous, comprehensive care to adult and geriatric invasive cardiology and peripheral angiography patients
Perform angiographic procedures including invasive vascular treatments and diagnostic/interventional cath lab procedures
Function as scrub assistant to cardiologist/radiologist using sterile technique
Set up sterile trays and specialized equipment for procedures
Maintain hemostasis post-procedure using compression or closure devices; manage insertion sites and groin care
Ensure radiation safety for patients and staff, including proper use of protective equipment and dosimetry badges
Screen females of childbearing age for possible pregnancy
Recognize and report abnormal patient data and changes in condition
Collaborate with healthcare team using appropriate handoff methods
Provide individualized patient and family education
Respond skillfully to emergency situations
Perform safety risk assessments and implement safety initiatives

Required Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab Radiology Technologist experience within the last year, with ability to scrub and perform x-ray procedures
Experience with Impella device
Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
