Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical Stepdown

Unit Description
- 29-bed medical stepdown unit specializing in care for patients with acute MI, cardiac arrhythmias, cardiomyopathy, CHF, and other low-risk cardiac/chest pain diagnoses.
- Provides general medical services including cardiology, renal, endocrinology, general medicine, pulmonology, gastroenterology, and oncology.
- Staff receive special training in non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (Bi-PAP, C-PAP, A-PAP).
- Responsibilities include infusion therapy, transfusions, injections, and central line care.
- Patient care assistants support with ADLs, point-of-care glucose testing, and 12 Lead EKGs.
- Dedicated stroke unit; all RNs are NIH Stroke Scale certified.
Schedule
- 3x12 hour night shifts per week
- Up to every other weekend
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of stepdown nursing experience within the last year
- Telemetry experience
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
This position requires specialized nursing knowledge and skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a medical-surgical stepdown environment with a focus on cardiac and stroke patients.
