Description
Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Registered Nurse)
Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Patient Ratio: 1:2
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Labor & Delivery with Mother/Baby experience)
Travel Experience: Preferred but not required
Locals: Accepted at the same rate
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in Labor & Delivery with experience in Mother/Baby care.
- Work night shifts with every other weekend (EOW) minimum.
- Overtime available after 48 hours.
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA, ARC, or US Department of Defense accepted
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Advanced NRP through AAP required; Essentials not accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current NRP certification
Additional Requirements
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Completion of skills checklist for applicable unit, updated annually
- Agency job description acknowledgment
- Orientation safety manual and HIPAA compliance acknowledgment
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam with passing score (>80%)
- Competency exam as applicable by profession
Notes
- Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers.
- All required documents must be included in the profile before start.
- Overtime available after 48 hours worked.
This position is ideal for experienced Labor & Delivery RNs with Mother/Baby experience seeking a travel contract with night shifts and a manageable patient ratio.
