Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Travel)

Location

• Dallas, Texas

Contract Details

• Travel assignment
• Length: 8 weeks
• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: Weekend, every other weekend
• Call requirements: Yes
• 36 guaranteed hours only; 48 hours not approved
• No time off allowed during FIFA event from 06/14 to 07/14

• Adult Emergency Room (ER)
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Floating: As needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention Training)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Meditech documentation system preferred
• Specialty/unit certifications in Emergency Nursing preferred

Dress Code and Appearance

• Royal blue scrubs required for RNs
• Nails must be clean and healthy; artificial nails, gel, or similar enhancements are not allowed
• Hair must be neat and clean; no extreme styles or colors
• Hair shoulder length or longer must be pulled back when working in the lab
• Facial hair (beards, mustaches, sideburns) must be clean and neatly trimmed
• Tattoos should be covered whenever possible; uncovered tattoos will be addressed individually
• Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited (e.g., nose rings, tongue rings)
