Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Portland, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40


Job Description

  • Position floats between units based on needs.
  • On-call required on weekdays and weekends.
  • Weekend shifts are not required.
  • Expected nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1.
  • Cath lab experience is required.
  • Vehicle is required for this assignment.
  • Floating may include multiple nearby facilities within reasonable distance.
  • Floating to certain locations may include additional incentives and accommodations.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon.
  • Cardiac Cath Lab experience with a minimum of 1 year, including experience within the last year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Required Documents & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Social Security Card (as applicable).
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually.
  • Education verification (nursing degree verification required).
  • NURSYS license verification for RNs.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work.
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination accepted.
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
    • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
  • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel assignments.
  • References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment.

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via assigned LMS.
  • Must acknowledge and comply with floating policy (may be required to float to other nearby facilities).
  • Must have reliable transportation (vehicle) for assignment and floating.
  • On-call availability required on weekdays and weekends.

Notes

  • No 48-hour shifts approved.
  • Floating to certain locations may include hotel accommodations for consecutive shifts.
  • Facility will provide as much notice as possible for floating assignments.

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with Cath Lab experience seeking a travel contract in Oregon with a structured day shift and opportunities to work across multiple units and facilities.
