Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: Issaquah, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Specialty areas include Orthopedics (sports medicine required), General Surgery, Urology, Gynecology, Spine, ENT (circulate and scrub preferred), Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, OB-GYN, Plastics, Robotics, Trauma, and Vascular.
- Patient care distribution: 30% inpatient, 70% outpatient, 10% pediatrics.
- Responsibilities include circulating and scrub roles with preference for robotics and ENT experience (ENT with endoscope experience preferred).
- On-call shifts are 12 hours (weekdays 7 pm to 7 am; weekends/holidays either 7 pm to 7 am or 7 am to 7 pm), shared among approximately 15 RNs. Weekend coverage is for on-call support only.
- Floating to other campuses may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State.
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by American Heart Association.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Clinical skills and experience in:
- Robotics.
- Procedure sedation.
- Blood and blood products administration.
- Drain management.
- Epidural pump management.
- PICC and central line management.
- Port-A-Cath and vascular device access and care.
- Wound Vac management.
- ENT surgery experience.
Shift Details
- Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM).
- 40 hours per week.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID and Social Security Card required.
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- Education verification required for nursing degree; international education requires additional documentation.
- NURSYS license verification required.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work.
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years; declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; declination accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer (declination accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use.
- Fit mask testing required for travel starts (updated annually).
- References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years required.
Additional Requirements
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via assigned learning management system.
- Photo for badge with neutral background required.
- Acknowledgement of float policy; may be required to float to other facilities within reasonable distance.

- Previous permanent staff at the facility are not permitted to work as travelers here.
- Active compact nursing licenses are honored.
