Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (LDRP RN)
Location: Frisco, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work as a Labor & Delivery nurse on the night shift at a small mountain hospital west of Denver.
- Approximate volume: 35 deliveries per month.
- Unit includes an 8-bed LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) with 1 OR suite for C-sections.
- Common patient profile: Low risk, >36 weeks gestation.
- RNs are responsible for reading their own fetal heart rate strips (Phillips monitors, OBIX EFM system).
- Charge RN takes an assignment.
- One OB tech per shift supports the unit.
- No in-house OB/Neonatologist 24/7; anesthesia available only if epidural is running.
- Respiratory equipment includes CPAP and occasional ventilator use for neonates awaiting transfer (vent use is rare).
- Self-scheduling is allowed.
- Weekend requirement: 3 full weekends in a 6-week period.
- Holiday requirement: 1 full summer holiday and 1 full winter holiday.
- Call requirement: 3 call shifts per 6 weeks.
- Floating is rare but may be required.
- Blue scrubs are provided.
- Orientation includes 2 shifts and covers days, weekends, and call shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license for Colorado.
- Labor & Delivery experience required.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - AHA
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- STABLE Certification
- Ability to titrate drips such as oxytocin and occasional magnesium sulfate.
Additional Information
- Orientation week requires clinicians to be physically present in-state, even if some modules are remote.
- Must submit a valid driver’s license.
- The hospital follows AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios.
