Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
  • Hours per Week: 40 hours
  • Call Requirements: 2 call shifts during the contract
  • Weekend Coverage: Every other or every third weekend as needed
  • Floating: May be required

Required Qualifications

  • Active Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
  • Experience in Interventional Radiology required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • EPIC electronic health record experience preferred

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
  • Education verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA)
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
  • Immunizations and health documentation:
    • Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
    • Annual TB questionnaire
    • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for measles, mumps, and rubella
    • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption requires documentation)
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
  • Fit mask test required annually for inpatient/patient-facing roles (valid for assignment length or completed onsite)

Certifications and Competencies

  • BLS and ACLS certifications must be current and AHA-approved (Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable)
  • Unit-specific competency exams required
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually (minimum passing score 76%)
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required prior to start
  • License verification and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start

References and Documentation

  • Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership (charge RN acceptable as second reference)
  • Employment application required, including education details for nursing candidates
  • Skills checklist required

Additional Notes

  • Parking permits available for agency staff (costs and options vary)
  • Candidates must review and sign dress code and hand hygiene policies
  • Fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
  • Confidential fraud waste abuse and compliance reporting form required
  • Background check results and fingerprinting must be clear prior to start; pending fingerprint attestations accepted under specific conditions
