Registered Nurse - MedSurg/Telemetry

Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina

Job Summary

Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process. Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, evaluation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Promote a safe, clean, and secure environment while supporting patient and family education and discharge planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients with complex medical-surgical and telemetry needs, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects.
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
• Assess patient readiness to learn and use appropriate patient education materials.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans.
• Prioritize tasks and organize care based on patient and family needs.
• Participate in unit goals, performance improvement, and cost-effective care initiatives.
• Communicate effectively to ensure continuity of care.
• Recognize and address cultural and ethnic considerations in patient care.
• Support professional growth and provide feedback to coworkers.
• Stay informed about public policy and regulatory guidelines affecting healthcare.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of MedSurg/Telemetry nursing experience.
• Education: Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensure: Licensed Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (AHA or ARC).
• Specialty: Nursing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units.

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing.
