Description
Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician
Location: Elmira, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Job Description
- Support Labor & Delivery unit with 80-120 deliveries per month.
- Work in a 10-bed high-risk unit with 2 operating rooms.
- Assist in OR cases, stock rooms and supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and complete daily checks.
- Must be willing to serve as a safety sitter when hospital census is low.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Surgical Technologist experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Valid Driver's License.
Health and Safety Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccine proof or agency declination (optional).
- MMR immunity: Positive IgG titer for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella individually or documented 2-vaccine series. If negative or equivocal, vaccination must be completed within 30 days of start.
- Fit test for approved respirators completed within the last 12 months (annual requirement). On-site fit testing available if needed.
- Hepatitis B immunity: Positive antibody titer, 3-vaccine series, or signed declination form.
- Tuberculosis (TB) testing: Must have either two PPD skin tests (one within 12 months, one within 3 months), or one Quantiferon/Spot test within 12 months. Past positive TB tests require chest x-ray within 12 months. Annual requirement.
- Varicella immunity: Positive IgG titer or 2-vaccine series. If negative or equivocal, vaccination must be completed within 30 days of start.
- Tdap vaccination within the last 10 years or signed declination form.
- Physical/Health Statement within the past 12 months confirming clearance with no restrictions, including height, weight, vitals, and vision screening. Must be completed by an approved provider (MD, DO, NP, PA, or DC).
Experience and Other Requirements
