Description
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Nurse (CVICU RN) - Night Shift
Location: Great Falls, Montana
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Hours: 36 hours per week
Position Overview
- Provide care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients in a cardiac medical surgical unit (10-bed CVICU).
- Care for immediate post-operative open heart patients from day one.
- Patient populations include pediatrics, pre/post PCI care, pacemaker, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy, CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, DVT, PE, sepsis, and various surgical cases.
- Operate advanced medical equipment such as central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, arterial lines (A-lines), multiple IVs, and provide short-term ventilation support.
- Provide direct patient care from admission through discharge, including discharge planning.
- Act as a clinical leader and assist with precepting staff.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Montana
- Minimum of 1 year of CVICU experience, with CVICU experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS
Additional Information
- Shift: Night shift.
- Work collaboratively with providers, charge nurse, ICU director, and other healthcare professionals.
- Responsible for directing LPNs, CNAs, housekeeping, and dietary staff.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks (approximately 3 months).
