Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
Location: Spokane, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Float: Position will float between units
- Weekend Requirement: Some weekend shifts required
- On-Call: Not required
- Block Schedules: Not required
- Patient Ratios: Labor 1:2, Assistant Personnel 1:3
- Special Requirements:
- Experience with Acute Care High Risk Labor and Delivery
- Management of Antepartum, Pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, VBAC/TOLAC
- Active management of laboring patients including induction/augmentation
- Handling maternal emergencies
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit mask test (annual, travel only)
- Immunizations and screenings:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
- Respiratory safety clearance (annual for travel candidates)
Background and Compliance
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
- State-specific searches and registry checks as required by Washington state law
- Education verification for nursing degree (international education requires diploma/transcript)
- NURSYS license verification for RNs
- WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses Demographic Attestation (for out-of-state compact license holders)
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required
Additional Notes
- 48-hour shifts are not approved
- Candidate may be required to float to other nearby facilities within the region
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
