Description
Registered Nurse - ICU (Night Shift) - Maryland, Baltimore
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 14 weeks
- Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
- Schedule: Every other weekend
- Unit: High Intensity Care Unit (HICU)
- 20 semi-private rooms, up to 40 patients
- Care for patients with acute brain injury, respiratory assistance, cardiac monitoring, complex medical conditions, and rehabilitation needs
- Accepts patients 18 years and older
- Provides 24/7 respiratory care, diagnostics, medical treatment, and rehabilitation services
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with ICU experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion and signature of Floating Policy and Time and Attendance Policy for contracted staff
- Photo for badge required
- Parking registration prior to start
- Completion of Education Mock Survey if assigned to specific sub-acute rehab, LTC, or GNA units
- Consent to Release Information form prior to start
- Stroke and Trauma CEUs may be required depending on unit; must be current and completed annually
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing for EKG/Medication exams required
- Skills checklist specific to unit required
Additional Notes
- Candidates must complete labs by Monday prior to start to ensure on-time start
- Instant drug screen and TB results can be used as placeholders if final results are pending
- Candidates must prioritize passing the EKG competency exam early in the compliance process to avoid cancellation
- Respiratory care and complex patient monitoring are key components of this ICU role
- No prior travel experience explicitly required for this position
This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized high-intensity care environment with a multidisciplinary team caring for complex adult patients requiring extended and rehabilitative care.
