Unit: Surgical Services (Cardiovascular Operating Room)

Job Description

• Position does not float between units.
• On-call required once per week, on a 1 weekend per 6-week schedule.
• Weekends required only if on-call.
• Expected patient ratio: 1:1.
• Must be able to scrub all open heart cases.
• Robotic surgery experience preferred.
• 48-hour shifts are not approved.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CVOR Technologist license in Washington
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a CVOR Technologist
• CVOR Technologist experience within the last year

Background & Screening Requirements

• Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
• Must include SSN trace, death master index, nationwide and county checks, sex offender registry, education verification, and motor vehicle record if applicable.
• Education verification required for all candidates.
• State-specific searches required for Washington.
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use.
• Fit mask testing required for travel candidates.
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted).
  • COVID vaccination documentation preferred; declinations accepted.

Competency & Training Requirements

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
• Competency exams required as applicable by specialty.
• Epic training modules required; transcripts must be submitted.
• Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS.
• Skills checklist required and must be updated annually.

Additional Requirements

• Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background).
• Float policy acknowledgement: candidate may be required to float to other nearby facilities.
• WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses Demographic Attestation required if applicable.
• Various state-specific and facility-specific documents and attestations may be required.

This is a 13-week travel contract for a CVOR Tech position in Spokane, WA, working day shifts with on-call weekend requirements.
