Registered Nurse (RN) - Stepdown (Nights)

Location: Bay City, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Utilize advanced monitoring equipment to track vital signs, telemetry, and critical metrics.
• Perform regular patient assessments, recognize subtle changes in condition, and initiate necessary interventions or life-saving measures.
• Administer complex medications, IV therapies, and titrate drips as ordered.
• Provide specialized care for patients recovering from surgery, cardiac events, or with complex conditions such as ventilated patients and stroke patients requiring neuro checks.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians and therapists to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate patients and families on diseases, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nursing care and patient responses.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Michigan
• Minimum 2 years of Stepdown (Progressive Care) nursing experience, with Stepdown experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with telemetry monitoring
• Experience using Cerner electronic medical records (EMR) system
• Must be able to work night shifts
