Physical Therapist – Adult Outpatient

Location: Juneau, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 40 hours per week; shifts vary Monday–Friday 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Job Summary

• Provide general physical therapy evaluations and treatments across a wide range of ages and diagnoses.
• Assess patients, perform evaluations, identify therapy diagnoses, and develop and implement treatment plans with goals.
• Supervise and modify therapy plans based on patient response to optimize outcomes.
• Oversee and direct Physical Therapist Assistants and other designated staff.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate care, including arranging medical equipment prior to discharge.
• Document patient encounters, treatment plans, recommendations, and prognoses according to policy.
• Work with both inpatient and outpatient populations in various settings.
• Develop and conduct patient and family education and therapy programs, including clear home exercise instructions with feedback and demonstration.
• Assist in administrative matters, clinic operations, and specialty/research areas as needed.
• Maintain clinical supplies, equipment, and cleanliness of clinical space.
• Stay current with billing procedures related to Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers.
• Provide therapy consultations, presentations, and in-services to medical staff and interdisciplinary personnel.
• Adhere to regulatory and practice standards set by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
• Participate in quality assurance and confidentiality standards and related functions.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Alaska
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist, including experience within the last year
• Experience in an outpatient setting
• Experience in supervisory roles
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Valid driver’s license

• Applicants must live at least 50 miles away from the work location to be eligible.
• Housing and flights are not provided.
