Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Tampa, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology)
  • Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM - 6:00 PM)
  • Caseload: 20-30 cases per day per tech
  • Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care
  • Trauma Level: Level II Adult Trauma, Level I Pediatric Trauma
  • Beds: 615 staffed beds
  • Work Schedule: Weekend work required; On-call required (8-10 call days/month, including one Saturday per month) with 30-minute response time; on-call sleep rooms available
  • Floating: Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required; no floating to sister facilities
  • Block Schedule: Possible, to be discussed during interview
  • Locals Accepted: Yes
  • Guaranteed Hours: Apply after first call off per pay period

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Florida
  • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
  • ARRT certification
  • BLS certification

Additional Requirements & Compliance

  • Background Checks: Standard background check within 1 year, including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
  • Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start; Livescan electronic fingerprinting recommended if not already cleared
  • Education Verification: Required, including foreign equivalency evaluation if education was completed outside the US or Puerto Rico
  • Physical Exam: Required within 6 months of start
  • TB Testing: Negative PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 10 weeks of start; chest X-ray and TB questionnaire if prior positive PPD
  • Drug Testing: Standard 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
  • Flu Vaccination: Required or documented declination; mask required if declined
  • Respirator Clearance: Required annually if respirator use is necessary
  • References: Two professional references from within the past 2 years required
  • Photo for Badge: Clear, professional photo with solid background required prior to start
  • Dress Code & Tobacco Policy: Must comply with facility policies
  • Training Modules: Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (approx. 4-8 hours)
  • Stroke Education CEUs: Required (8 total hours from CEUs, NIH Stroke Certification, and/or mRS Certification)

Work Environment & Unit Details

  • 4 procedure rooms (3 with biplane imaging)
  • Equipment includes Siemens and GE imaging systems
  • Procedures include stroke intervention, neurointerventions, pulmonary embolism thrombectomy & thrombolysis, deep vein thrombosis interventions, pain management, oncology procedures (Y-90, MAAs, chemoembolizations), and more
  • Scrub color: Black or Navy
  • Charting system: Cerner
  • Parking: Included

Notes

  • First-time travel techs accepted
  • Pending licenses are not accepted
  • No Return to Origin (RTO) restrictions in contract
  • Prior travel experience is not required
