Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech
Location
- Springfield, Illinois
Employment Type
- Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Shift: Evenings, 5 days a week (14:00 - 22:30)
- Hours per week: 40
- Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend, holidays, and on-call required
- On-call: Yes, as needed
- Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
- Block schedule requests can be discussed with manager
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Illinois
- Radiology Technologist experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- National Tech Certification Verification
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Experience in an Outpatient setting
- Operating room imaging experience
- Abdomen X-Ray skills including decubitus, supine (KUB), and upright positioning
- Chest and thorax X-Ray skills including AP, lateral decubitus, routine chest, and upper airway (soft tissue neck)
- Head X-Ray skills including facial bones, orbits, paranasal sinuses, skull, and temporomandibular joints
- Lower extremity X-Ray skills including ankle, femur, foot, knee, and tibia-fibula
- Mobile and surgical X-Ray skills including C-Arm procedures, portable abdomen, and portable chest
- Spine and pelvis X-Ray skills including cervical spine, hip, lumbar spine, pelvis, sacrum/coccyx, and thoracic spine
- Upper extremity X-Ray skills including clavicle, elbow, forearm, hand, scapula, shoulder, trauma shoulder/humerus, and wrist
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Illinois state license required (no pending licenses accepted)
- ARRT certification required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS and PALS may be required based on unit/specialty (AHA or RQI acceptable)
Additional Requirements
- Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good physical and mental health, ability to perform job functions without restrictions
- Fit mask test required prior to start (specific mask types accepted)
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by November 30
- Competency exam required before start
- Photo for badge required within one week of signing contract
- Completion of computer-based learning modules before orientation

- Scrub color: Any solid color
- Parking permit required (no cost)
Other Notes
- Locals accepted with no radius restrictions
- Return to office restrictions ideally no more than 5 days
- Guaranteed hours subject to client call-offs up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment
- Candidate must provide a legible copy of a valid US Driver’s License or US ID card
This position is suitable for X-Ray Technologists with at least 1 year of experience, who are comfortable working evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts in a high-acuity hospital setting with a broad range of imaging responsibilities.
