Description
Registered Nurse - MS/Tele (Travel/Contract)
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Position supports the Emergency Department (ED) Holding unit within the float pool.
- Patients are adults with medical/surgical diagnoses, including PCU level patients.
- Responsibilities include caring for MS/Telemetry patients and floating to ED and MedSurg areas as needed.
- Target nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:6 for MS/Tele patients, 1:4 for PCU level patients.
- Shift: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week (3x12 hour shifts, 18:45 to 7:15).
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
- Maximum allowed call-off (RTO) after booking is 7 days; additional call-offs may lead to cancellation.
- Contract staff may be required to participate in Storm/Hurricane Teams or respond to catastrophic events.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS certification
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Use of Rapid Response Teams
- Phlebotomy skills
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) experience
- Non-invasive airway management
- Tracheostomy management
