Description
Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Tampa, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology)
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Caseload: 20-30 cases per day per tech
- Weekend Requirement: Yes
- On-Call Requirement: Yes, 8-10 call days per month including one Saturday per month
- 30-minute response time required to arrive at hospital
- On-call sleep rooms available
- Floating: Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required; no floating to sister facilities
- Block Schedule: Possible, to be discussed during interview
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Guaranteed Hours: Apply after first call off per pay period
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Florida
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- ARRT certification
- BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
Facility & Unit Information
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care
- Trauma Level: Level II Trauma, Level I Pediatric Trauma
- Beds: 615 staffed beds
- Procedure Rooms: 4 total; 3 with biplane imaging; equipment includes Siemens and GE systems
- Case Types: Stroke intervention, neurointerventions, PE thrombectomy & thrombolysis, DVT interventions, pain management, oncology procedures (Y-90, MAAs, chemoembolizations)
- Scrub Color: Black or Navy
- Charting System: Cerner
- Parking: Included
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Standard background check within 1 year including 7-year history, SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Foreign equivalency evaluation required for international education
- Education Verification: Required for all healthcare professionals
- Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting recommended)
- Physical Exam: Within 6 months of start date
- TB Testing: Negative PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 10 weeks of start; chest X-ray and TB questionnaire if prior positive PPD
- Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines, booster if low/equivocal titers
- Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination
- Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines, booster if low/equivocal titers
- Drug Testing: Standard 9-panel within 30 days (instant tests not accepted)
- Flu Vaccination: Required or declination accepted with mask-wearing; deadlines apply for pre-start and working travelers
- COVID-19 Vaccination: Required with exemptions accepted
- Respirator Clearance: Required annually if respirator use is needed
Additional Certifications & Competencies
- Stroke Education CEUs (8 total) including NIH Stroke Certification and Modified Rankin Scale (mRS) certification required for relevant units
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Color Blindness test (Relias) required prior to start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain nursing units (not applicable for this role)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification not required for this role
Documentation & Onboarding
- Professional photo for badge required prior to start (clear, solid background, no filters)
- Completion of facility-specific dress code and tobacco policy acknowledgment
- Completion of required online training modules prior to start (approx. 4-8 hours)
- References: 2 professional references from past 2 years required
- Employment application and skills checklist must be submitted and approved
Notes
- First-time travelers accepted
- Pending licenses are not accepted
- No Return to Origin (RTO) restrictions in contract
- Must be able to respond to on-call within 30 minutes
- Must maintain all certifications and licenses current throughout assignment
