Registered Nurse - Med/Surg

Location: Miles City, Montana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Variable 12-hour shifts
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Summary

• Perform independent nursing and delegated medical functions according to state Board of Nursing standards.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
• Continuously evaluate patient health status through data collection and assessment.
• Provide health teaching and counseling.
• Deliver supportive and restorative therapy and treatment directly or through delegation, supervision, or teaching.
• Execute delegated medical functions and refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed.
• Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
• Document care in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
• Utilize resources effectively.
• May float to other departments within competency and qualifications based on business needs.
• May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited School of Nursing.

Licensure & Certifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Montana.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Advanced certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by the American Heart Association.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience, with Med/Surg experience within the last year.
