Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

Location: Jeffersonville, Indiana
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (9:00 AM – 9:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 (includes 1 night call per week and weekends)

Job Summary

• Accountable for the care of a group of patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
• Focus on safe, effective patient- and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
• Responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized plans of care.
• Supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members.
• Applies evidence-based practice and participates in quality improvement and regulatory compliance efforts.
• Provides mentoring and precepting to staff.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and supports patient/family education and comfort.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Acute care nursing experience.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments according to policy and patient condition.
• Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Facilitate and evaluate patient and family education during stay and at discharge.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and foster teamwork.
• Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives.
• Comply with regulatory standards and participate in Practice Governance.

Work Environment

• 12-hour day shifts with one night call per week and weekend coverage.
