Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Nights (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7 PM to 7 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 48 hours
Job Description
- Work in a Level I Trauma Center, Short Term Acute Care hospital setting.
- Patient ratio approximately 1:7 with team nursing support including PCC and other RNs.
- On-call and weekend shifts required as needed.
- Strict 100-mile radius rule for travel nurses; local candidates not accepted.
- No block scheduling except possible weekend blocks.
- First-time travelers accepted only if they have 3+ years of recent experience.
- Level I Trauma experience and large hospital experience required.
- Prior travel experience is required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level I Trauma patients
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Work Environment & Dress Code
- Navy blue scrubs for RNs.
- No prints or embroidered scrubs allowed.
- Business casual with white lab coat for RN Case Managers.
- Strict adherence to facility policies and procedures.
Additional Notes
- Start date: ASAP.
- All requested time-off (RTO) must be submitted with application; no changes after offer.
- Large hospital and trauma center experience mandatory.
- Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers without 3+ years recent experience will not be considered.
This position is ideal for experienced Medical Surgical RNs with trauma center background seeking a travel contract in a high-acuity hospital setting on night shifts.
