Description

Registered Nurse (RN) – Long Term Care (LTC)

Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide routine daily nursing care and other services based on resident assessments, preferences, and care plans.
  • Collaborate closely with the RN Manager to manage daily operations.
  • Facility size: 160 beds.
  • Shifts are variable, primarily evenings (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM) or nights (10:45 PM – 6:45 AM).
  • Must have recent experience (within last 12 months) using Epic in a Long Term Care setting.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Iowa.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years of rehabilitation experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Experience in a Long Term Care setting.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
  • Current and valid driver’s license.

Required Onboarding and Compliance

  • Drug screen (9-panel, excluding THC) within 30 days of start.
  • Background check within 30 days, including SS trace and county search for last 7 years.
  • Adult and Child Abuse clearance as per state requirements.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
  • Skills checklist completed within last 12 months.
  • Health statement from a physician within last 12 months.
  • Fit test for approved respirators prior to start.
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity:
    • MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted)
    • Hepatitis B (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted)
    • Tdap (valid for 10 years; declination accepted)
  • TB test proof of negative within past 2 years or appropriate documentation if prior positive.
  • COVID-19 vaccine or declination accepted.
  • Influenza vaccine or facility declination accepted (seasonal, due by Dec 1).
  • Color vision test within 1 year.
  • Driver’s license or state ID current and valid.
  • Pre-orientation computer-based learning (CBL) acknowledgment.
  • Epic registration acknowledgment form after registration completion.
  • I-9 attestation on agency letterhead.
  • Two professional references required, including one supervisor.
  • Resume or professional profile required.

Additional Information

  • Resident-to-nurse ratios will be discussed during the interview.
  • Variable shifts require flexibility, mostly evenings or nights.
  • Facility uses Epic electronic health record system.
  • Emphasis on compliance with all onboarding and credentialing requirements prior to start.

This position is ideal for an RN with recent LTC Epic experience seeking a 13-week assignment with variable evening and night shifts in Iowa.
