Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Location: Mullica Hill, New Jersey
Shift: Nights, 12-hour shift (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
Hours per week: 36
Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Labor and Delivery and Mom Baby assignments within the department
• Patient care ratios per AWHONN guidelines:

  • 1:1 or 1:2 during labor
  • 1:3 for couplets (mother/baby)
• Facility includes 20 patient rooms used as Labor, Delivery, Recovery (LDR) and mom/baby couplet rooms
• 2 OB operating rooms for circulating during C-sections
• 3 OB Emergency Department rooms

Required Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Mother/baby experience preferred
• Postpartum couplet care experience strongly preferred
• Epic electronic health record experience required

Required Certifications and Licenses

• New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) License or Compact RN License
• Certifications:

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Note: Pending certifications or licenses are not accepted at submission

Orientation and Onboarding

• Completion of full orientation is mandatory; failure to complete results in immediate termination
• Orientation includes:

  • Virtual Welcome meeting and online HealthStream modules to be completed by Monday start date
  • In-person classes typically held Tuesday through Thursday (locations provided via HealthStream on the day of class)
  • POCT class attendance required (scheduled separately from orientation week)
  • Unit-based orientation schedule provided by the manager

Additional Requirements and Compliance

• Background check, drug screen, and employment verification
• Compliance with mandatory trainings including confidentiality, core annual training, and COVID-19 vaccine
• Verification of educational credentials and licenses
• Various health screenings and immunizations required (Hepatitis B, MMR, Tdap, Varicella, TB screening, physical exam)
• National and state-level exclusion and sanction screenings (e.g., FACIS, OIG, SAM, NJ Debarment, Sex Offender Registry)
• Competency exams and skills checklist completion
