Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) – Inpatient / Outpatient (Days)
Location: Marshall, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Days
Hours per Day: 9
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide speech, language, and dysphagia services to adult patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include evaluations, treatment planning, administering therapies, bedside swallow studies, diet recommendations, and monitoring. Must work independently and be ready to start immediately.
Essential Functions
- Perform patient evaluations and treatments for speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Design and revise individualized plans of care and goals.
- Provide written and verbal reports to physicians.
- Complete documentation according to unit and regulatory standards.
- Participate in in-service education, staff meetings, patient care committees, case conferences, and community education projects.
- Stay current with trends and developments in speech and swallowing disorders.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Michigan
- Speech Language Pathologist (2 years of experience)
- Speech Language Pathologist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Experience working with Pediatric patients
- Experience in an Inpatient setting
- Experience in an Outpatient setting
Additional Requirements
- Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility.
- Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and approved at the time of application; no more than 5 days of RTO allowed.
- Must submit a skills checklist current to within 1 year.
- Must provide at least one supervisory-signed reference from the past two years.
- Traveler’s permanent address must be included in the profile.
Work Environment & Culture
- Business casual or matching scrubs dress code.
- Electronic Medical Record system: McKesson.
- Facility is a 78-bed hospital in a historic and charming town with local cultural attractions and nearby cities within 90 minutes for day trips.
