Description
Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Travel/Contract)
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Unit: 37-bed Medical/Surgical
Job Details
- Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per week: 36
- Patient Population: Respiratory distress, possible sepsis, UTI, cellulitis, change in mental status, pain, generalized weakness, abnormal labs
- Contract Length: 14 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must provide a government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID)
- Employment application and work history verification required (verification of 2 workplaces within last 7 years)
- References may be required as backup for work history verification
- Some certifications such as ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI, and others may be required depending on unit specifics
- Stroke and Trauma CEUs may be required and must be maintained annually if applicable
- Respirator fit testing will be completed onsite; annual renewal required for new contracts
- Pass/fail testing acknowledgment required for RNs
This position is ideal for experienced travel RNs with medical-surgical background seeking night shifts in a hospital setting with diverse patient diagnoses.
