Registered Nurse – Medical Telemetry

- Weekend hours: 36 per week

Unit Information
- 43 beds
- Patient ratios:
- Med/Surg Day Shift: 1:4-5
- Med/Surg Night Shift: 1:5-6
- IMC Day and Night: 1:3
- Patient types include respiratory, medical telemetry, surgical, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, failure to thrive, respiratory failure, and various acute on chronic medical conditions
- Equipment used: ventilators, BiPaP, CPAP, nasal cannula, non-rebreather masks, epidural pumps, IV pumps, specialty beds, PCA pumps, VAC dressings, tracheostomy care and maintenance
- Electronic Medical Record system: Epic
Float Requirements
- IMC RNs may float to other IMC units or med/surg units as needed
- Med/Surg RNs may float to other med/surg units with similar level of care
- Floating depends on unit needs and nurse skill level
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maine
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- Ventilator experience
- Tracheostomy experience
- BLS certification required

This position is suitable for RNs with experience in medical telemetry and intermediate care who are comfortable with floating between units and managing complex respiratory and acute medical patients.
