Registered Nurse (IMC) - Travel/Contract
Location: Lewisburg, Pennsylvania
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Float between Intermediate Care (IMC), Orthopedics, and Rehabilitation units as needed.
- Patient population includes hip fractures, osteomyelitis, cellulitis, acute kidney injury, pneumonia, bowel obstructions, and general medical/surgical patients.
- May care for COVID-19 patients.
- Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.
Schedule & Work Requirements
- Schedule: 3 nights per week, 12-hour shifts (7 PM to 7 AM).
- Weekends: Every other weekend.
- Holidays: As needed.
- No call requirements.
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
- Minimum 2 years of Intermediate Care nursing experience, with at least 1 year within the last year.
- Experience in Orthopedics and Rehabilitation units.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start; updated annually.
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse (Childline) Search required 3 business days prior to start; renewed every 5 years.
- Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; results must be on file within 45 days of assignment start.
- Pennsylvania State Police PATCH (criminal history) search required within 1 year of start; must be finalized prior to start.
- Employment application and most recent resume required.
- Two professional references within 3 years required.
- Annual skills checklist required.
- Physical exam required within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
- Fit testing for approved mask types required within 1 year of start; updated annually.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required with documentation including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; chest x-ray if positive.
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccine doses or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal.
- Varicella: 2 vaccine doses or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal.
- Hepatitis B: Full vaccine series or positive titer preferred; declination form required for all candidates.
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
- COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption or declination accepted.
- Negative 9-panel drug test required within 1 year of start (for agency use only).
Certifications & Competencies
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required within 48 hours of contract signing.
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for all RNs (except OR and Home Health); must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
- ACLS certification may be required depending on unit assignment.
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Passport-style photo for badge with light-colored background required.
- Completion and signing of facility-specific documents including:
- Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work form.
- Commitment to Health & Wellness.
- Code of Conduct.
- Confidentiality Agreement.
- Non-Employee Affidavit.
- Hepatitis B Declination form.
- Safety and Security Vehicle Registration (if applicable).
- Review of facility policies such as "Wellspan Way Description."
- Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules on PC/laptop prior to or on first day of orientation.
- New Hire Orientation required by end of first day.
Additional Notes
- Candidates will undergo a clinical pre-screen to determine fit before manager interview.
- Floating between units is mandatory as needed.
- Facility is tobacco and fragrance free; candidates must be notified prior to submission.
