Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Assignment
Location: Mexia, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Department: ICU
- Number of Openings: 1
- Shift: Night
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Weekend Schedule: Rotating weekends
- Call: May be placed on call for scheduled shifts during low census
- Float Requirement: May be required to float to Medical-Surgical unit when ICU census is low
Unit Information
- Unit Type: ICU
- Number of Beds: 6
- Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 2 patients
- Patient Population: Adult and Geriatrics (no pediatrics)
- Equipment Used: Telemetry monitor, vital signs machines, bladder scanner, ultrasound for IV, Doppler, ventilators, BiPAP machines
- Electronic Health Record (EHR): MedHost
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Ventilator and BiPAP management
- Critical care drips management
Clinical Focus & Common Diagnoses
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Atrial Fibrillation with Rapid Ventricular Response (AFIB RVR)
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Pneumonia (PNA)
- Sepsis
Work Environment & Culture
- Team-oriented, family-like unit culture
- Positive attitude and adaptability to provider needs expected
- Dress code: Scrubs of any color allowed; no unacceptable attire specified
Additional Notes
- Facility is a 49-bed acute care hospital with Level IV trauma designation
- Candidates must be located 60 miles or more away to qualify for travel status
