Registered Nurse - Oncology (Travel Assignment)

Location

  • Lewiston, Maine
  • 2nd largest city in Maine with access to cultural and outdoor activities (skiing, fishing, hiking, kayaking)
  • Nearby attractions: 40 minutes to Portland, ME; 15 minutes to Lost Valley Ski Resort; 1 hour to Old Orchard Beach; 2.5 hours to Acadia National Park

Contract Details

  • Travel assignment
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (3 shifts of 12 hours per week)
  • Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
  • No call requirements

Unit Profile

  • Med-Surg/Oncology unit
  • Trauma Level III facility
  • Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients
  • Float requirements: Must float to all inpatient areas
  • Equipment used: Wound Vacs, Prevena Vacs, Baxter IV Pumps
  • Electronic Health Records: Omnicell, Cerner, SBAR
  • Patient population includes cancer, diabetes mellitus (DM), pneumonia (PNA), and general surgery cases

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine
  • Minimum 2 years of Oncology experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

  • Emphasis on relationship-based care and flexibility in scheduling
  • Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
