Registered Nurse (ER) - Oregon, Roseburg
Job Details
- Specialty: Emergency Room (ER)
- Location: Roseburg, Oregon
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights (18:45 - 07:15)
- Hours: 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Scheduled as per contract
- Call/Standby: None
- Floating: Not required
- Dress Code: Any color scrubs except purple
- Orientation: Unit-specific orientation provided before first shift
Facility & Unit Information
- Level III Trauma Center
- 21 ED beds and 1 trauma bay
- 4 fast track beds
- 2 triage rooms; travelers are allowed to perform triage
- ER holds are intermixed within the ER and managed by ER staff
- 4 psych/seclusion rooms plus 2 convertible crisis rooms
- In-house security present
- Average patient volume: 125 patients per day
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 4:1
- 24/7 ED physician coverage; Physician Assistants present 8-16 hours daily
- 24/7 ED Charge Nurse and House Supervisor coverage
- ED Techs available 24/7
- Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
- Respiratory Therapy performs ABGs and breathing treatments; RNs and Techs perform EKGs
- Telemetry monitoring available; RNs read strips
- Imaging staff transport patients for X-ray and CT scans
- Blood draws performed by ED Techs and RNs
Required Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) recommended but not required
Licensure
- Facility is willing to request a 90-day Emergency License if needed
Experience & Skills
- Experience working in a general Emergency Department setting preferred
- Ability to manage typical ER patient diagnoses and trauma cases
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume trauma center environment
Additional Notes
- No call or standby requirements
- No floating to other units
- Night shift hours are from 18:45 to 07:15
- Orientation is provided before starting the first shift
