Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry
Location: Thornton, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (7 AM - 7 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Unit: Telemetry / 2 South
- Number of Beds: 18
- Staffing (Day Shift): 1 Charge RN, 3-4 RNs, 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
- Patient Ratio: 5:1 (RN to patient)
- Equipment: GE wireless telemetry boxes, Welch Allen vital sign machines
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
- Floor: 2nd Floor, Main Hospital Building
Job Description
- Care for patients with a wide variety of trauma and orthopedic injuries including blunt force trauma, polytrauma, spinal cord injuries (SCIs), gunshot wounds (GSWs), stabbings, as well as standard telemetry patients such as chest pain, stroke workups, chronic cardiac conditions (CHF, Afib, RVR), and traumatic brain injuries (TBIs).
- Typical procedures include neurovascular checks on limbs, frequent ambulation and repositioning, orthopedic precautions, and comprehensive pain control.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Notes
- Candidates without at least 1 year of current acute care telemetry RN experience will not be considered.
