Job Opportunity: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech

Location

  • Birmingham, Alabama

Employment Type

  • Travel assignment
  • Contract length: 32 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Shift: 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM
  • Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
  • Call requirements: One weekend per month and one day per week on call
  • No float requirements

Unit Information

  • Department: Cath Lab
  • Number of labs: 4
  • Patient ratio: 1 team member to 1 patient
  • Equipment used: Merge Hemo
  • EMR systems: Merge Hemo and Cerner (transitioning to Epic in August 2026)
  • Patient population: Cardiac patients

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
  • Experience as a Cath Lab Technologist within the last year
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • Experience with IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
  • Experience with Impella
  • Experience with Laser
  • Experience with Shockwave
  • Experience with Phillips panning

Skills and Experience

  • Must have experience with:
    • IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
    • Impella
    • Laser
    • Shockwave
    • Phillips panning
  • Preferred experience with Merge Hemo system
