Interventional Radiology Travel/Contract Job - Salisbury, North Carolina
Job Summary
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology focus)
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Location: Salisbury, North Carolina
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 8 hours per day (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM), 40 hours per week
- Patient Age Group: Adults and Geriatrics
- Unit Type: Combined IR/Cardiology/Vascular/EP lab (approx. 80% IR procedures, 10% other cardiology procedures)
- Call Requirement: Minimum 7 call days per month (typically 2 call days per week for two weeks, plus one call weekend per month)
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- Float Requirement: None
- Scrubs: Provided
Job Responsibilities
- Assist providers during diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures
- Scrub and circulate during IR/Cath Lab and cardiology procedures
- Expect urgent/emergent cardiology and interventional radiology procedures
- Callback time: 30 minutes for STEMIs; IR callback time varies by procedure type
- Medication administration performed by RN only
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience
- Interventional Radiology experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Skills: EKG lead placement
- Certifications: ARRT Advanced Certification, RCES, RCIS with medical experience
Orientation and Training
- Unit orientation: 40 hours (may extend up to 80 hours)
- New techs start directly on the unit on Mondays until Dimensions training is completed
- No Return to Office (RTO) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may lead to cancellation

- GE MAC Lab, Philips iFR/IVUS, Canon and GE Labs
- Angio Jet, Pneumbra, EKOS, Inari, CSI Atherectomy System
- Bovi System for Implanta Plasma Blade Cutter
- Radiofrequency Ablation Unit, Venous Closure Unit
- Sono Site, S2000 Ultrasound Unit
- IABP, Impella
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including local county, federal court, national criminal database, DOJ sex offender search, and education verification for highest degree earned
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative result required)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (30 days if past positive TB)
- Fit testing for N95 mask or completion of PAPR training (not required for non-clinical)
- Immunizations and titers required: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (facility-specific declination form if titer negative/equivocal)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption with mask requirement during flu season
- Required facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement, education roster, tobacco-free campus acknowledgement, medication safety training, hospital policies, and annual compliance training
- Radiation badge required for Interventional Radiology techs and related roles
- North Carolina state-specific registry and exclusion list checks within 90 days prior to start
Additional Notes
- Candidates must provide interview availability within 72 hours of submission
- Scrubs are provided onsite
- No holiday RTO allowed for this role
- Call team includes three staff members, one must be an RN
- No float requirement
- References: 2 professional references within 3 years required for travel allied acute care candidates
